New notebooks and gocco prints

I was quite a busy bee last night! I finally mastered my gocco printer (I've used it before, but I never actually mastered it until yesterday) and whipped up 5 new moleskine notebooks and 22 prints! It would have been six notebooks but my five year old brother (I'm sorry, did I say five? I meant 15) decided to test if my ink was dry by running his finger across the wet design. See why I forgot for a moment that he was 15?

Anyway, the rest of the batch came out fantastic! I have three unlined and two lined moleskines, 11 prints on orange paper and 11 prints on grey paper. The prints are limited edition, signed and numbered.

New pictures

I've been cleaning up my shop a little this week, and today's big project was taking pictures of all of my non-print items (since those images are just digital) and uploading them to my shop. I like the way they look on the clean, crisp white background now-- I think it fits my shop image much more than the grained wooden table. Also the clarity is a little better since I'm using my new camera :)

You can see the difference the background makes just by scrolling down to yesterday's post and comparing my birthday card picture from yesterday to today. Doesn't it make a huge difference?!

I'll be uploading some new products in a few seconds so check back! :)

Flapper Doodle Birthday Cards

These come in a set of six or individually--
I have a different 1920's birthday greeting for each card:

-I hope you have a hotsy totsy birthday
-I hope your birthday is the bee's knees
-I hope your birthday is peachy keen
-I hope your birthday is pretentiously fashionable
-I hope your birthday is just ducky
-I hope your birthday is the cat's pajamas

The set of six cards is in my shop here.
Individual cards are in my shop here.

My most exciting project ever just got better...

I'm also offering the coloring book in PDF form!! I just figured out how to do PDFs recently, and I'm thrilled about it! I also have my 2010 calendar in PDF form as well. I love this idea, because it's so simple and quick -- I send the PDF within 24 hours of receiving the order (probably sooner because I'm online so much...) so there's no waiting for the mail to come!

And with the coloring book pages, you can print as many as you like without having to buy another book. It's perfect for children who are like I was when I was a kid- going through coloring books like there's no tomorrow! Finished with one? Just print some more! :)

Available in my shop here.
And the PDF version of my calendar is here.

My most exciting project EVER!

AHHHH!!!!

I am so incredibly excited about this one :D

I re-drew 18 of my original drawings for the book to make sure that there was no black hair or any coloring whatsoever-- these are complete blank slates for coloring! Give them green hair, whatever :)

It's printed on heavy card stock, measures 5.5" x 7" and is side-stapled.

In my shop here.

ALSO! I'm now offering FREE worldwide shipping on ALL orders!!

So, what do you think?????? I'm so excited!!! :D

Also, I now own the domain www.flapperdoodle.com which redirects to my etsy shop! It makes it a lot simpler for the business cards, and it's easier to remember :)

New Years Eve party invites

I'm thinking of also offering these (sans the New Years Eve banner) as normal party invitations -- what do you think?

Available in the shop -- 10 cards -- $10

Haute Flapper

Something a little different-- this is watercolor & ink on watercolor paper, and it measures 18" x 22" It's actually on white paper but since it's too big to scan I couldn't get a really good picture of it. I'm thinking about taking it to Staples to scan...

The blogger image isn't too great so click on the image to see it larger :)

It's available in my shop here.

The Flapper Doodle Mantra

I was just sitting around in my pj's today (flannel, unfortunately) drinking grapefruit juice-- no makeup, bare feet, with graphite and paint on my hands. I stopped what I was doing for a second and just though, wow-- I wish my life was more elegant. I wish I could actually have the kind of life that my flappers do -- bringing elegance to even the silliest activities. I mean, come on-- they play hopscotch in heels!

Well, you don't have to be a flapper, drink champagne or own a penthouse to have some elegance in your life. It can be as simple as choosing a satin robe instead of a cotton one- sparkling apple cider instead of apple juice-- watching Love Affair instead of The Simpsons. Indulging yourself every now and then in something extravagant- some chocolate covered strawberries or decadent chocolates.

Do you have a beautiful cocktail dress and nowhere to wear it? Wear it around the house. With heels. And listen to opera music. While drinking wine. (For the record, I think grapefruit juice is very ritzy.)

I'm not going to let my dull life get in the way of making myself elegant-- I'm bringing the elegance into my daily life and making the most of what I have!

The "Make Every Day Elegant" print is available in my flapper doodle shop-- and it is officially now the flapper doodle mantra! :D

Flapper Doodle 2010 Calendar!

This was probably the most time-intensive Flapper Doodle project I've done so far (and yes, that includes the screen-printing debacle of August.) But it's also the project that I'm the most thrilled about! Seriously, when I just finished a little while ago I was tempted to do cartwheels!!

You can find these in my etsy shop here, at $20 each. I'm printing them and assembling them myself.

YAY!
You can click on the images to see them bigger :)
