flapper doodle on tumblr!

I started a tumblr account for flapper doodle! It's not just for my artwork, though I will post new (and some oldies!) drawings and products -- but mainly it will be for 1920's movie stars and models, silent film stills, modern flapper fashion spreads, jazz age music and basically anything with a 1920's theme. I hope you'll take a peek and maybe stick around! :)

New items & Big News!!

I've finally added new cosmetic bags to my shop again -- they're printed on 100% silk this time, with three flappers (Eloise, Ramona & Emma) putting on their makeup and getting ready. I think Ramona kind of overdid it on the mascara though..

They're $7.50 each and I only printed five for now. I saved the screen, unlike my last makeup bag printing, so I might do them again -- it all depends on if these sell or not I guess. Click here to see them in my shop.



I'm also offering "will you be my bridesmaid" invitations in my shop! There are many options- you choose how many you need, if they are flat cards or open cards, if there's an inside greeting or not, and whether or not the outside greeting is personalized or standard. $10 for a set of 5. AND!!! My shop was picked by The Frisky for their Season's Savings series!! Only 14 etsy shops were picked along with stores like Old Navy & Barnes and Noble! I actually didn't think my shop was picked (they had contacted me about a month ago) and then today I got a sale that mentioned it and nearly had a heart attack from excitement :D

Playing Grown up & Modish

Yesterday Brooke from Playing Grown Up featured an interview with me and lots of my flapper doodle drawings on her blog! The interview questions are so cute, based entirely around the principle of staying young at heart when you start growing up. You can click here to read it (along with one of my answers detailing my fun childlike birthday parties I have every year!)

And, I have no clue how I found this (or how I missed it in the first place) but Eloise & Ramona were on Modish in May! Wow!! They are superimposed over a festive background for Cinco de Mayo, which is slightly strange, but just being featured was a nice surprise! :)


I'm really under the weather right now (I was allergic to a medication, and then the medicine they gave me to relieve the allergy sparked yet ANOTHER allergic reaction!) so I haven't felt much like drawing or even doing any posts the last two days. I'm going go try to work a little tonight to take my mind off how I feel, but I might not post again until the end of the week. But I hope everyone else is having a lovely week!

I checked my email today and found out that I won a really nifty vintage giveaway on the Life of a Jersey Girl blog! As if that wasn't splendid enough, I later saw this in my dashboard:

"And the winner is... talented" -- how incredibly sweet! After a somewhat miserable day spent out shopping in the rain (unfortunately not buying lovely dresses, but groceries and art show supplies) it was wonderful to come home and see this! Thank you Carol!!!

Lolita's blog is one of my very favorite classic film blogs-- and I was so happy when she won my Epic Artwork Giveaway!!
