I always say this, but really, THIS might be my favorite flapper doodle project ever! These are flash cards for learning to speak 1920's slang! I picked 20 of my favorite sayings from real flapper dictionaries, and drew illustrations to match them. Each card is 4" x 5" with rounded corners - the front features an illustration & slang term, and the definition is on the back.
For a list of all 20 terms, click here to view the cards in my shop!
Here are a few of my favorites!
I'm feeling a little under the weather, so I might not be posting ALL of the new products I had planned for this weekend. I'd like to get some rest this weekend so I don't get really sick for Christmas season! I'll try to get some of the products listed by next Wednesday though! :) I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving!
Don't forget, everything in my shop is BOGO Free until Midnight EST on Monday!! Click here for details.
Make sure you check back here on Friday morning for the details of my HUGE Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale!! And then check back throughout the weekend as I add a boatload of new products to my shop, just in time for the holidays!
I just realized I didn't give any kind of cut off date or time on my silk cosmetic bag pre-order post-- I'll be ordering the blank bags tomorrow (Saturday) so if you'd like to pre-order a bag please do so before like 6am EST tomorrow morning... I'm only going to be making 5 extra bags in addition to the pre-orders, so if you want one it would be a good idea to reserve it now. You don't pay until the makeup bag is ready to ship.
To reserve one, just email me at kategabrielleart@yahoo.com, leave a comment asking me to reserve a bag, or contact me on twitter @kategabrielle.
I made five of these last month & sold out in two days- so this time I'm going to do pre-orders instead, to make sure that everyone who wants one gets one. They are 100% silk, hand-gocco printed and $7.50 each, but you don't pay until I have the bags ready to ship. These WILL be shipping in time for Christmas, so you can order them as presents. Unfortunately, though, I can't guarantee these for Christmas for overseas orders.
To pre-order a bag you can just drop me a line at kategabrielleart@yahoo.com, leave a comment on this post (just please include your email address so I can contact you) or contact me on twitter @kategabrielle
Wow I just spent HOURS working on this, I'm so happy it's finished!! :D
I just made a big stationery set for my shop in PDF Printable format- which means I email you a file that contains a bunch of stationery goodies and you can print them over and over and over to your heart's content.
The PDF includes:
- two patterned paper designs (one glitter, one striped) - one letter paper design - two note paper designs - four flat note card designs - two note card designs - one envelope design - one grocery list design - one to do list design - one shopping list design
Whenever I print things or make things, I always end up with a bunch of misprints, or things that have a small problem with them. They aren't necessarily irreparably damaged, they just have small defects.
So I thought I'd round up all of my misprints and offer them in a grab bag for someone who might like my artistic misfits :)
**Purchased separately in perfect condition, this grab bag would be worth $92**
The grab bag includes:
- 8"x10" print of Eloise as Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face (The error is a small amount of black ink smeared on the very bottom of the print; would definitely be covered by a picture frame)
- 4"x6" print of Eloise, Ramona & Clarissa have a party (The error is that the tip of the martini glass is touching the top of the print & would probably be obscured in a frame)
- 5"x7" print of Eloise, Ramona & Clarissa have a tea party (The error is that the flapper on the far right is smeared a little)
- 5"x7" print of Emma painting (The error is a small amount of black ink smeared on the very bottom of the print; would definitely be covered by a picture frame)
- Lined gocco printed moleskine notebook (The error is that the ink smeared on the chair, but I colored it in with purple colored pencil.)
-Ramona the Red Nosed Flapper book (This was my test copy. I stapled one staple on the side but have decided that future copies will have 2 staples, that's the only thing wrong with it.)
-27 flapper note cards with 4 different designs (The error is that the printer resolution wasn't high enough and so the images aren't crisp enough.)
- a Flapper Doodle tote bag (The error is that there is a small stain on the front of the bag & a small ink smear on the handle.)
Well, today I'm 23 years old! So to celebrate, you can take 23% off of everything in my shop! You can either pay & I'll send a refund or wait for a revised invoice. The discount will be applied to every purchase, you don't need to enter any codes to get it :) SHOP
PS. I only need 16 shop hearts until I reach 1000! I'd LOVE it if I could reach 1000 for my birthday if you'd like to pass the word around :D
I have an overwhelming amount of products in my shop now (over 160!) so I thought that, for anyone who was interested in giving something Flapper Doodleish as a Christmas present, I'd make a little gift guide to help narrow down the options :)
If you'd like, you can download the Official Flapper Doodle Gift Guide as a pdf here.
I've finally added new cosmetic bags to my shop again -- they're printed on 100% silk this time, with three flappers (Eloise, Ramona & Emma) putting on their makeup and getting ready. I think Ramona kind of overdid it on the mascara though..
They're $7.50 each and I only printed five for now. I saved the screen, unlike my last makeup bag printing, so I might do them again -- it all depends on if these sell or not I guess. Click here to see them in my shop.
I'm also offering "will you be my bridesmaid" invitations in my shop! There are many options- you choose how many you need, if they are flat cards or open cards, if there's an inside greeting or not, and whether or not the outside greeting is personalized or standard. $10 for a set of 5. Click here to view in my shop.
AND!!! My shop was picked by The Frisky for their Season's Savings series!! Only 14 etsy shops were picked along with stores like Old Navy & Barnes and Noble! I actually didn't think my shop was picked (they had contacted me about a month ago) and then today I got a sale that mentioned it and nearly had a heart attack from excitement :D
I have an exclusive discount with The Frisky from now until December 31st, so head on their site here to check it out! Yipiee!!!! :D
Just a small update! The coloring books now come with a set of 10 colored pencils, so you're ready to start coloring the moment you open the package :) Same price.
I have a few new items up my sleeve, I'll probably be posting them over the next couple days.
The next 8 orders in my shop will get a free signed gocco print of Eloise, Ramona & Emma putting on their makeup. I did the design for new cosmetic bags that I'll be posting in the shop tomorrow. -- Click here to visit the shop --
Please keep etsy in mind when you start your holiday shopping this year! Artists really, really need the support. My sales last month fell off by 50% and all of the artists I know have had the same exact problem so holiday shopping could give us the boost (both monetary and egotistical) that we desperately need :)
